5 burgers to try in Doha

There are times in your life when all you want is a big, juicy, dirty burger. Luckily in Doha there are many places that will satisfy your desire. These are 5 places I recommend you could go to get a good burger, I’m not saying these are the best or that this is a definitive list, just some places I go back to regularly. In alphabetical order…

Aroma, Kempinski

This restaurant is famous for its Signature Camel Burger and a few weeks ago when we went for a business lunch it was on the menu. It was presented really nicely with various condiments and polenta chips. The camel meat is quite hard to describe a bit like game but with a sweet, spicier aftertaste which was delicious and not too heavy. This is definitely a great place to try a camel burger in style. Go on, be adventurous I dare you!

Burgeri – Aspire Park

This industrial styled restaurant within Aspire Park offers a variety of burgers and sides at pretty reasonable prices. You place the order yourself and you’re given a buzzer which sounds when your order is ready for collection. The burger here was freshly cooked to order, hot and juicy but not overly greasy. Although I liked the burger here the real winner for me was the sweet potato fries which I’d go back for time and time again.

Champions, Marriott Marquis

Champions is one of our favourite places to go on a Thursday night when we just want to relax with a few beers, meet with friends and play pool. I know some people don’t like how smokey it is but I think it’s got better recently. Without doubt if I got a burger here was the Bistro Burger. A delicious beef patty served a little pink with a generous helping of blue cheese, Brie and onion relish. I absolutely loved it. However, it was a casualty of the menu revamp so my love has now switched to the yard of sliders – soft shell crab, cheeseburger, southern chicken and short rib beef. Great for sharing!

Market, W Hotel

Regular readers know that we go to the outlets at W Hotel a lot. The business lunch menu at Market offers outstanding value for money in terms of quality, quantity and service. The cheeseburger is pretty much a permanent fixture on the menu and it never fails to disappoint. It arrives looking like a tower and the obvious debate of eating with your hands or using a knife and fork always arises. The beef patty is served pink with melted cheese, onion rings, tangy dressing and a plant pot of fries. A refined burger indeed.

Shake Shack, Gulf Mall

We’ve been to the outlet in Villagio a few times but now we know there’s one closer to us at Gulf Mall calling in here could be a habit. Bright, funky and welcoming with an open kitchen this place specializes in burgers. Again, you order yourself and when the buzzer goes off you go to collect. This is one of the more greasy burgers we’ve had but in a (very) good way especially when paired with the crinkle cut fries. The patty is packed with flavour and almost melts in your mouth. So good it’s hard to stop at one..!

Where do you go when you get a burger craving?!

The list is missing Burger Boutique, along with Champion’s sliders, those are my go-to places when the burger cravings hit.

Have you had the soft shell sliders from Champions? So good! I’ll add Burger Boutique to my list of places to try. Thanks 😊

I’m not the biggest fan of Shake Shack but Burgeri and Fatburger are my guilty pleasures. I’d recommend you try Sawa’s variety on burger night as well as The Butcher Shop’s cheese and mushroom burger! Bookmarking the camel burger though, thanks for the tip!

I missed the Zomato night at Sawa so I’ll give it a try on your recommendation. Didn’t like butchers shop when I went but I didn’t have a burger, may give it a second chance! Definitely go to Aroma, it’s lovely 😊

It doesn’t hurt when you have a voucher to try Butcher’s out. I was the same way, then I had the burger and that’s all I have every time I go! I shall, I shall!! =D
